The Purpose:
The Finance Manager (contract) role will have responsibility for day-to-day finance functions to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of financial information for AP+ in a timely manner and in accordance with Australian Accounting Standard and Company policies. This role also assists with Treasury, Tax, and compliance obligations for AP+. This role’s core focus will be to support through year end and audit requirements.
You will be responsible for:
- Audit and Financial Statements: Providing supporting documentation to auditors for the year end audit.
- Month End: Preparation, review and posting of month end journals as required.
- Reconciliations: Preparation and review of high-quality balance sheet reconciliations ensuring adherence to accounting standards and AP+ policies.
- Technical Accounting: Application of accounting standards to operational matters and providing advice and technical accounting memos where required e.g. leasing, commercial agreements.
- Tax: Supporting management of the AP+ tax function as required.
- Financial Compliance: Supporting the finance team to ensure AP+ meets its compliance obligations and other compulsory government reporting.
- At least 5 years directly relevant finance experience.
- External audit experience highly desirable.
- Preparation and review of financial statements.
- Ability to identify and define problems and work collaboratively to find solutions.
- Supports self/others/the team during change by encouraging flexibility, demonstrating the positives, and finding opportunities for others to get involved.
- Facilitate collaboration internally across the organization and externally to enable service delivery.
- Support team to deliver quality outputs on time.
- Create a safe team environment, enabling others to challenge and share ideas and where diverse views are valued and respected.
- Provide space for team to take on appropriate responsibility, try new solutions and move things forward.
