Permanent Opportunity, Finance Manager within SME Construction business Your new company This Australian-owned construction company is looking to appoint a new Finance Manager due to recent growth. This organisation provides services to some of the country's largest construction giants and offers an excellent long-term opportunity for the right individual. Your new role You are an experienced Finance Manager/Controller with a track record of leading small teams. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
Oversee and manage all aspects of the finance function, including delivery of accurate and timely month end financial results, in compliance with accounting standards and in line with reporting requirements.
Supervise the finance team, including month-end reconciliations and internal control functions.
Take ownership and execute the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure process.
Monitor and analyse financial performance, including completion of monthly shareholder reports and variance analysis and commentary to budget and forecast.
Govern cashflow, working capital requirements and dividend forecasting.
Participate in operational and financial planning initiatives, providing financial insights and strategic direction recommendations.
Ensure full compliance with relevant statutory requirements, including Income Tax, FBT, GST reporting and insurance renewals.
Preparation of board papers for quarterly board meetings.
Support the business to identify risks, key opportunities, areas of improvement and work with business leads to implement changes.
Business partner with management team and third-party service providers.
Ensure staff members follow company policies and procedures.
Manage external audits, including liaising with auditors and bank.
Manage service contract with an external IT provider.
Perform the role of Company Secretary, including producing agendas and taking minutes at board meetings, preparation of dividend statements and circular resolutions and other ad hoc tasks.
Ad hoc projects as required.
What you'll need to succeed You will be CA or CPA qualified and have recent experience managing a small team in a hands-on Finance Manager or Controller role. You will be a strong business partner with excellent communication skills. Previous experience within the blue-collar industry would be highly advantageous.
