How will I help?For this position, you will be responsible for supporting the team in delivering the Group's Statutory reports with a strong focus on financial analysis and the effective communication of results and drivers. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate an absolute commitment to achieving critical deadlines and producing highly accurate output.You will be a role model in leadership to establish and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with stakeholders informed by solid knowledge of control and regulatory/disclosure requirements.
Some of your responsibilities will include:- Preparation and/or review of inputs to externally reported documents, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (or equivalent) and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Preparation of clear, referenced, and auditable working papers.
- Review of information provided by business unit (BU) contributors, identifying errors and omissions, and assisting with their resolution.
- Identification and assistance with the resolution of financial accounting issues (where applicable).
- Preparation and/or review of monthly financial statements, and identification and timely resolution of any issues identified.
- Support initiatives that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Statutory Reporting processes.
- Work with the business to develop solutions to Statutory Reporting issues, identify the root cause of any inaccuracies in reported data and recommending remedies for correction where applicable.

What do I need?CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
- Financial services experience highly regarded.
- Knowledge of banking products and the related accounting considerations beneficial.
- Ability to independently read, interpret and apply Australian Accounting Standards to form an opinion on financial accounting issues where they arise.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting is mandatory. Prior experience (either directly as a financial accountant or indirectly as a financial statement auditor) is advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of the Corporations law and tax accounting.
- Sound knowledge of financial control practices, processes, and discipline.
