Your New Role:
9 Month Fixed Term Contract - The Finance Manager - Aged Care is a significant finance and leadership role within Group Finance & Strategy.
The role will be responsible for managing business performance, ensuring high quality information to support key decision making, while maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with all external reporting and governance obligations.
The role will build a strong partnership with the management team in the Aged Care business and the Group Finance & Strategy teams, driving the Australian Unity finance transformation agenda and providing outstanding and inspiring leadership to the immediate team and broader Finance community.
Your New Role:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely actual results on a monthly basis for the Aged Care business;
- Oversee the reconciliation of financial data from underlying business systems to general ledger;
- Oversee maintenance of all general ledger reconciliations for Aged Care;
- Oversee the postings of appropriate adjustment journals including accruals, provisions and receivables;
- Oversee the preparation and finalization of budgets and forecasts for the Aged Care business based through collaboration with the business;
- Understand the various business risks and opportunities, providing appropriate challenge to the inclusion/exclusion of these items in budgets and forecasts
- Build effective and healthy partnering relationships with key stakeholders in the business unit to ensure alignment of reporting and forecasting processes
- General cash flow management of business, incorporating inter-entity and inter-company loans management, cash flow forecasting and adherence to AU Group funding governance requirements
- Management and oversight of capital expenditure for the business
- Role model the aspired leadership behaviors aligned to the Australian Unity culture;
- Supervise/Manage the Aged Care Finance team, implementing individual performance objectives and skills development necessary to meet operational goals
About You:
- 8+ years relevant financial and management accounting experience;
- CA/CPA Qualified
- Solid experience in system processes, variance analysis, reconciliations, issue resolution and process improvement;
- Solid experience in forecasting and budgeting;
- Advanced Excel skills and computer literate in a range of financial software and accounting packages (e.g. TM1, SUN, Blackline)
- Strong collaborator and relationship builder while driving for success
- Coaching and development skills
