Finance Manager

Job Description.
As the newly appointed Finance Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing systems and processes to automate and streamline the organisations information flow from borrowers to investors all the way to accounting and legal. This is an opportunity to apply your intelligence and creativity into a fast-paced money lending company and directly see results of your input. Simply put the organisation has outgrown its current system and needs a capable and visionary Finance Manager to create, implement and administrate a fast-paced workflow system. Given the growth of the company, it is possible your future position will become full time within two years and we will hire a subordinate for you to help with the administration of this system. You may also wish to stay part time if desired. 

Vance Finance is a privately funded, non-bank lending company and is an arm of a high wealth family office. You will be reporting directly to the company director. It is therefore expected your privacy and limited disclosure of sensitive information as a fundamental of your job. You will be well resourced including a new laptop and optimistic approval for expenses direct to you achieving your objective. The right candidate will be driving the initiative, choosing and implementing new software or if appropriate ERP systems to administrate the organisation. The company director will be actively working with you to provide information and support to move the project along smoothly. Our team is on average late 30's and we enjoy the occasional social event but are mostly focused on meeting targets and having a calm and relaxed demeanor as the funds under management come with significant responsibility and accountability. If extra time is needed then you will be accordingly remunerated similarly if you need time off or want to do a time in lieu arrangement we will likely accommodate your requests if logically articulated and reasonable. We are incredibly flexible but the expectation is that you deliver results through well defined KPO's and make an obvious improvement to the organisations efficiency, data collection and presentation of information to enable the organisation to increase its capacity significantly.

You could just want a better work life balance or have other commitments in life at present which we can accommodate. Days and hours of work are flexible and we will work with the best candidate to deliver a fantastic balance to fulfill their external obligations. If you are a highly skilled foreign national which requires 20h, we are happy to hear from you.. We cannot offer sponsorship at this time.
It is expected you come to our Sydney CBD, Pitt Street office at least 2 days a week for 4-5h during the day. Other work times are totally flexible including weekends or evenings.You can work in the beautifully styled, modern & clean Pitt Street office anytime. You will have your own permanent workspace and equipment of your preference to support the performance of your job. The best candidate outside of competence would be well spoken and relaxed but take their job and work responsibilities seriously and proudly. 

We are offering ($60h) $78k + 13% Super for 25h/w work. Subsidy for parking during office days will be considered. Annual bonus will be considered for exceptional work. If you can justify and require a full time position this would be considered during the interview stage. 

Roles and Responsibility’s
- Monthly and annual financial reporting internally and for investors
- Designing, developing and administrating a new financial workflow
- Working with accounting and legal to meet compliance obligations
- Leading development and implementation of:
  o Work flow management
  o Data gathering and automation
  o Data analysis and information presentation
  o Reporting
  o Subsequent work instructions of system design and its administration
  o Ongoing continuous improvement and refinement                                                                                                                     - System administration and assisting directors in meeting deadlines
- On occasion representing the company to relevant stakeholders
-  Privacy, security and accountability
            

Skills and experience
At least four year’s experience working in a bank, private lending, consultancy, or accounting organisation. Prior experience in a family office also welcome. The right candidate will be an intelligent and highly capable / creative individual who seeks an opportunity to design and implement an efficient streamline financial workflow. This job is not for someone wanting to
coast and make sure staff are entering data correctly. Good communication skills and presentation are important. You are not required to have experience managing individuals.Highly competent excel and computer skills obviously essential. 

Qualifications
Minimum, Bachelor of Finance / Economics / Business Management or Administration with a credit average from a reputable university or international college if you have under 7 years relevant work experience. Information & Technology qualifications will be considered if applicant has experience in a finance organisation. You must be considered a fit and proper person.
