The role: A new and exciting opportunity is now open in our finance team for a highly motivated Finance Officer. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will provide support with delivery of internal and external reporting requirements, financial reconciliations, payroll and ad hoc financial analysis.
This is a fast paced and dynamic role and will suit someone who thrives in an agile environment, is advanced in Excel and looking to join a high performing and supportive team with a great culture.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Ensure the reliability, integrity and accuracy of financial information is of the highest standard and provided in a timely manner.
- Maintaining the financial/management accounts and general ledger systems (at least to trial balance stage).
- Assisting with various budget processes and assisting with the preparation of various management reports, mostly on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Assisting with the reporting on, and monitoring of, the bank reconciliation, cash flow and liquidity.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of statutory returns as required.
- Assisting with special investigations/projects concerning a wide range of commercial accounting issues as required.
- Work with and assist internal and external auditors to ensure the Mildura Health meets its reporting and audit requirements.
- Timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll, leave management and superannuation. Respond to staff wage and salary queries. Interpreting and applying a variety of industrial instruments. Preparation of all statutory reporting.
- Manage end to end invoice processing for accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile accounts with the ledger.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with:
- Ability to analyse and communicate financial information.
- Sound knowledge of organisational accounting procedures.
- Developing skills within financial/management accounting principles.
- Computer literacy - with a sound knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office software in particular excel spreadsheets.
- Good understanding of business process and internal controls related to accounting, payroll and accounts functions.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate with key stakeholders at all levels.
