About the role
You will be enthusiastic, motivated and have a hardworking attitude. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of financial operations within the organisation. You’ll be responsible for processing and coordinating various financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, operations/business support and reporting. You’ll also support payroll functions in conjunction with the Lead Accountant.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Operations of the accounts department, including but not limited to accounts payable, receivable and general administration
  • Cash management – including bank reconciliations, cash flows and discrepancy reporting
  • Management of payment channels, debtor management and third-party account management
  • Management of key mailboxes (accounts, payroll & vendor invoices)
You’ll also be involved in:
  • Ensuring efficient and responsive financial services are provided to the organisation including month-end processing, reconciliations
  • Assisting in BAS, FBT and ATO submissions
  • Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures in accordance to the relevant legislation, policies and standards
  • Processing the fortnightly payroll, in conjunction with the Lead Accountant
  • Reconciliation of staff rates/pays are in accordance with Lort Smith Enterprise Agreement, employment agreements and Modern Awards
  • Managing the payroll mailbox and act as the main contact for all payroll queries, responding in a timely manner an escalating where required
  • Wage reporting and other ad hoc analysis
You’ll bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • A proven ability and willingness to work as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
