AddressA well-respected government department is recruiting an experienced Finance Officer / Assistant Accountant. You will be working for an organisation that has significantly enhanced the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. Your manager is knowledgeable, supportive and considerate of her staff. She is easy-going, supportive and very collaborative in her management approach. This will be a 3 to 6 month temporary role with a possibility of extension.
The Position:
- Payment of accounts, invoicing, corporate card management
- Support the month end process including posting journals in Tech One and GL reconciliations
- Support Principal Management Accountants with the preparation of various cost budget templates
Although there will be a handover and you will have the support and training you initially require, ultimately you will need to assume complete responsibility for your role and will need an extremely thorough knowledge of the end-of-month accounting processes such as journals, accruals and GL reconciliations. Experience on a large ERP system like Tech One, SAP or Pronto will be ideal. To truly thrive in this busy role, you will need to be self-motivated and results-driven. Ideally, you will be available to start within a week.
