Job location
Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital, just 15 minutes north of the city. Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced, like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates include Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate, with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychology and Social Work. We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator cohort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.
About the Role:
- End to end functions of Accounts Payable
- Vendor set-up, weekly payment runs, prompt response to stakeholder and vendor queries
- Provide support the Trust Accounting and Accounts Receivable functions when required
Duties:
Allocation of charges to the correct GL code and cost centre and become a super user of the Accounts Payable system.
- Accurately account for GST paid and received to facilitate preparation of BAS returns.
- Management of vendor payments, ensuring vendors are verified and accurately set-up within the GL system.
- Administration of, and account for Employee Expense Reimbursement disbursements.
- Assist with preparation of month end close processes and undertake bank reconciliations.
- Provide suggestions for the streamlining of the Accounts Payable processes and systems.
- Account for patient payments and receipts into trust accounts.
- Provide back up and support services to the trust officer and Accounts Receivable Officer.
- Engage constructively and share information with colleagues to support delivery.
- Provide support and assistance to the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller as required.
About You:
Relevant work experience in a Health care setting is highly desirable and demonstrated skills and experience as a Finance Officer.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles including up to date knowledge of GST requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high level accuracy.
- A team player and proven ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
- Sound knowledge and skills in computer application including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel & Word.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out and deliver results against the key responsibility and activities of the position.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team to deliver outcomes and solve problems.
