Our client, the Australian Government's trade, investment and education promotion agency, are Seeking the experience of a Finance Officer (APS6) for a 4 + 12 month contract, located in Melbourne (Collins Street) or Canberra (Civic).
Duties of the Finance Officer
- Provide relevant and accurate financial and procurement advice, using contemporary tools and practices to ensure compliance.
- Manage all accounts payable and receivables, complete data entry tasks, invoicing, payment and reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial and procurement reporting, budget development and forecasting.
- Contribute and conduct financial analysis to support improved business outcomes and identify financial risks and business opportunities.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience with accounting systems similar to SAP, TM1, P2P, TRIM, or the ability to quickly acquire the skills to successfully navigate and use the systems.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with all facets of accounts financial planning and management, in particular accounts payable and receivable, data entry, invoicing, payment, reconciliation, general ledger and budget planning.
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice with regards to the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to apply well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance, while communicating effectively with various stakeholders at multiple levels.
