The Shire is seeking a professional, dynamic and hardworking Finance Officer to join our Corporate Services team. This position will contribute to the efficient and effective financial management of the Shire ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with legislation, policies and operational practices.
The role is responsible for the management of the rating and property database, administration of sundry debtors, and providing assistance to the Finance Coordinator with month end financial reconciliations. Duties will include, maintaining the property database, receipting payments, rates modelling and billing, debt collection, month and year end financial reporting, as well as providing prompt and courteous responses to customer enquiries.
The successful applicant will have experience in local government rating procedures, knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, excellent customer service skills and highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. The applicant will also need to possess a keen eye for detail, with advanced numeracy, computer literacy and analytical skills.
A competitive salary package of up to $90,212 per annum depending on qualifications and experience working a 76 hours fortnight, including:
- Cash component up to $76,728
- Superannuation

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for work/life balance, with the position offered on a flexible basis, between 64 - 76 hours a fortnight. The Shire is supportive of flexible working arrangements, which may be negotiated with the successful candidate.
