About you
At AMPS, you will have the opportunity to use your payroll and financial skills to support the business during a growth period. We are seeking an Assistant Accountant who is willing to contribute as a valued member of the finance and business support teams and who is adaptable and open to developing with us. You will have previously worked in a similar financial role and may have a relevant qualification in a business or accounting-related field.
About the role
You will be working closely with the Finance Business Partner, in Fremantle, and will collaborate and engage directly with business support, operational teams, leaders, and external stakeholders.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Assist in end-to-end accounts receivable
• Support end of month and end of financial year tasks
• Process monthly payroll for approximately 80 employees
• Reconcile transactional bank accounts and credit cards
• Assist the Finance Business Partner with reporting, budgeting and statutory requirements
• Manage accounts payable data entry and the accounts inbox
Required skills and abilities
• At least two years’ experience in a similar financial role
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy
• Ability to liaise with the leadership team and other key stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Familiarity with PAYG, GST and Payroll Tax
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Desirable skills and abilities
• Experience working with MYOB Advanced would be highly valued
• Project management experience
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation
