As a Finance Officer/Bookkeeper, your role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the efficient operation of financial processes within the finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle, including receiving invoices, coding, and posting them into the general ledger.
- Submit high-value invoices to the CFO for approval before payment.
- Maintain and update the cash flow expense report, scheduling weekly pay runs.
- Manage the reconciliation and processing of employee expense claims, overseeing approval and payment procedures.
- Handle the reconciliation and processing of bond/fee refunds, obtaining approval for payments within the supplier payments run.
- Keep the vendor database up to date to ensure consistency in supplier data.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations for supplier statements.
- Generate reports on aged payables and provide ad hoc reporting as needed for the CFO.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal, external, and team queries, ensuring timely business operations.
- Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve unverified or unreconciled payments or claims.
- Open and close supplier and utility accounts.
- Input and manage corporate accounts and credit cards.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in the accounts payable process to enhance finance and business operations.
- Ensure prompt receipt and processing of all petty cash invoices, coordinating with centre managers, area managers, and other team members.
- Background in Bookkeeping, Finance Officer, and Accounts Payable roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Xero.
- Familiarity with fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in computing, recording, and overseeing financial transactions.
- Thorough attention to detail, including precise data entry abilities.
- Strong stakeholder management, particularly with vendors and suppliers.
- Capability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to collaboratively work and contribute to the team's efforts.
