About Us

The Role
Supporting the Manager Accounting, Tax and Governance within the Finance Office, the primary objective of the position is to own and maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger and the Banking sub-ledger, along with general support to the Accounting, Tax and Governance Team through data entry, collation, and maintenance. Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Working collaboratively with various stakeholders within the Finance Office to ensure that Finance is seen as a highly valued and trusted financial advisor within the University, and that critical information is conveyed and understood,
- Processing fixed asset and banking related transactions,
- Assist in corporate credit card applications, maintenance, and terminations,
- Assist in performing month end close procedures and other financial accounting activities to ensure the control and integrity of the University's general ledger and financial controls,
- Assist in collating information and maintain workpapers, as required, to prepare and lodge various compliance returns and policy renewals,
- Maintenance of a register for insurance claims and facilitate the processing of these claims under University insurance policies,
- Maintain the motor vehicle register and log books, coordinating the distribution of mother vehicle registrations and fines to custodians.
What you'll bring to this role
- A degree or other tertiary qualification,
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a high-volume environment,
- High computer literacy skills with experience working with spreadsheets and accounting applications,
- High organisational, time and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines,
- Great communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation and/or external stakeholders.
