Role Overview

Reporting into the Financial Controller, this Financial Accountant will drive month-end close ensuring to meet tight deadlines and drive efficiency in process. On a monthly basis, you manage the Balance sheet reconciliation, prepare financial reports and complete statutory reporting and lodgement.

The opportunity in this role is to take part in their projects and process improvement. With change in process and systems as well as acquisitions on the horizon this role is an exciting challenge for the right person who can come in and own their role and contribute to the wider company.

Responsibilities

• Drive Month end close including journals, reconciliations and deadlines.
• Prepare and process quarterly BAS, annual FBT and tax returns.
• Payroll journals and PAYG Reporting.
• Assist with payroll processing when required.
• Ensure ASIC compliance and manage new entity creation, as well as general ledger maintenance.
• Key contact for external auditors at year-end.
• Partner with the FP&A team and manage any queries.
• Work on projects/changes via new systems, system upgrades, process changes due to business growth or regulatory change.

Candidate Profile

You are highly energetic and wish to be in a critical role driving performance for the business. You are Commerce or Accounting qualified and have completed your CA or CPA. Ideally coming out of a large complex company or with a Big 4 background and have a strong understanding and ownership experience of a large P&L. With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. A passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level is at the core of who you are. Your leadership and stakeholder engagement skills will ensure your success.
