Senior Financial Accountant - Healthcare

Our client is one of Australia’s’ largest primary healthcare providers, offering services across dental, women’s health, skin care and general health. Now owned by Private Equity, they are positioned to become Australia’s most trusted health provider through their increasing and comprehensive networks of medical clinics. 

Sitting within the Group Finance team of seven, and reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role’s primary focus will be to take ownership of the accounting for the salaries and wages, and the service fees from the medical centres. More specially the role will involve: 

• Managing the accounting for Salaries & Wages across the business, including all leave provisions, wages, payroll tax accruals, superannuation clearing and managing the payroll clearing accounts
• Use Report Manager to calculate monthly Facility Services Fees for all Medical Centres 
• Working with Finance and Shared Services to review accounting policies and streamline processes and procedures
• Accounting for urgent care Capital and Operational Revenue Grants including invoice creation and bank receipting
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations for Medical Centres on various accounts
• Collaborating with various business divisions across the organisation to work on various accounting projects
• Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and working with auditors to close out final accounts

There will also be opportunities to be involved with a number of projects across the business.

Our client is keen to meet candidates that have a good foundation in Financial Accounting, ideally from a larger business with complexity. 

You don’t need exposure to payroll accounting (that can be a bit niche) but have the appetite for learning new accounting skills. 

A CA / CPA will also be highly regarded.
