Role Overview
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the provision of accounting and financial management services, including assisting the preparation of the annual financial statements, maintenance and development of the general ledger and the preparation balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Accounting Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Providing timely and accurate collation of financial and accounting information and preparation of required financial reports, complying with internal and external controls and statutory reporting requirements; Assist in the coordination of the external audit process in relation to the Statutory Financial Statements; Identify improvements needed in current and future IT systems (including automation opportunities); Produce reporting analytics to enable identification of key trends or issues in the Group that may necessitate further analysis and discussion; and Ensure the provision of timely accounting and financial management services to all Group entities, including maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts and the production of financial reports. About YouYour skills and experience will include; Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent with a focus on Accounting or Finance or Corporate Finance; Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or Certified Practicing Accountants; Working knowledge of current Australian Accounting Standards, and how they may impact the business and decision making; Ability to assimilate data into meaningful financial information – developing report formats in line with business and client needs; Experience in the preparation and coordination of audited financial statements; and Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
