An opportunity now exists for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the company on a full time, permanent basis.
About the Role
Reporting through to the Financial Controller, you’ll manage a range of statutory financial reporting and tax tasks on behalf of the business. Duties will include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and complete end of month journals and reconciliations
- Prepare group financial reports and assist with consolidation including intercompany reconciliations
- Owndership of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process for the ANZ region
- Develop budget and forecast processes in conjunction with the team
- Prepare monthly GST returns and Payroll Tax
- Assist with yearly tax filings (WHT, FBT, ITR) and deferred tax calculations
- Assist with yearly external audit requests and quarterly internal audits
- Assist with annual risk assessments
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and process improvement activities as required
- Complete any other finance and reporting tasks as required by the business
This position would suit someone looking to move from professional practice into commerce with an audit or business services background. Alternatively, you could be an experienced accountant with exposure to the FMCG or manufacturing sector. In addition to this, you will be:
- Degree qualified in accounting, finance or related discipline plus full CA or CPA membership
- Strong and proven understanding of technical accounting standards (IFRS, AASB etc.)
- A controls and process improvement mindset, to deliver accurate financial results and reconciliations
- A team player, who is capable of dealing with complexity, ambiguity and change
- Strong relationship building skills to drive commercial outcomes in the business
- An outstanding communicator, with demonstrated prioritisation skills
- Ability to deliver on tight deadlines through strong organisational skills.
- Experience using ERP or manufacturing system e.g. SAP will be highly regarded
