Financial Accountant

Our client is an established food group who have been in the industry for over 60+ years. This Financial Accountant position will be reporting and working closely with the Financial Controller, this role will see you undertaking day to day Accounting functions, including monthly Balance Sheet, cash flows and Income Statement reconciliations. To be successful, you will need to have a track record showcasing robust accounting practices and optimisation of financial process. Self-motivation, adept problem-solving, and strong communication skills are essential, along with an exceptional work ethic and a commitment to building a culture around integrity, respect, and teamwork. 

Duties: 

• Completion of monthly Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations 

• Responsible for the completion of monthly financial reports. 

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports. 

• Assist with the end of financial year requirements and processes. 

• Supporting the rest of the team with their transactional tasks where necessary, including accounts payable, payroll and treasury functions 

• Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc project tasks including automation and process improvement initiatives 

• Partnering with key business stakeholders to support and deliver successful financial results. 

Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting & finance, with CPA/CA certification an advantage 

• Proven experience as an Accountant in a diverse business environment 

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards 

• Effective communication skills to convey financial information to diverse stakeholders. 

• Highly motivated team player with a “hands on” approach 

• Must have full Australian Working Rights
