Form of workStockwell is seeking a Financial Accountant to contribute to the financial management and sustainability of a well renowned, inter-generational Queensland property group.
Stockwell is a leading private property business with 72 years industry experience. The Group consists of four main operational business lines – Property Development, Construction, Property Management, and Private Capital, as well as owning and operating a diversified portfolio of retail, commercial, and residential assets.
Stockwell is experiencing an expansion phase, with a number of new Residential, Lifestyle Resort, Retail and Commercial properties and projects in the pipeline.
This role was created to drive the financial management and discipline within the group as the pipeline is delivered. It would be perfectly suited for someone looking to make their first move into a commerce environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Finance and working across the business, you will contribute to the day to day running of the finance function. You will support the financial management and ensure the statutory compliance of our business.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparation of month-end workpapers including the reconciliations of balance sheets and bank accounts.
- Prepare month-end journals for internal transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting.
- Assist with annual group financial statements audit and coordinate investment trust audits.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax obligations.
What you will need to succeed in this role:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- One to three years’ experience working in a commercial accounting role.
- Understanding of property industry is well recognised but not essential.
