An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, technically strong and hands-on Financial Accountant to assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the Finance function for Boronia Capital.
Our office is located in Crows Nest, NSW.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the General Ledger for Boronia Capital and all associated entities, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, direct and indirect tax returns and regulatory submissions.
- Preparing daily clearing and cash reconciliations and managing the treasury function of all entities.
- Assisting in the accounting, valuation and investment analysis for the Unit Trust.
- Reviewing and performing cover for the accounts payable and payroll functions.
- Ownership and maintenance of the fixed asset registers for Grinham Property and Boronia.
- Preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Risk and Compliance reports for the CEO and Directors of Boronia Capital.
- Assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of the Risk Register, Statutory Reporting and Tax Reporting Calendar, AML & KYC Calendar and Ad-hoc requests and Annual Regulator Information Reviews.
About you - experience and skills:
- Being a small collaborative team environment, the role would ideally suit someone who has strong demonstrable financial accounting experience, who is looking for a stable role but who is also interested in broadening their experience over time to other aspects of a Family Office Financial Control function.
- Experience with the full lifecycle of accounting processes from accounts payable and payroll, through to financial statement and tax return preparation.
- Exposure to risk registers, AML/KYC practices or have some experience in assurance or compliance.
- Experience or awareness of accounting for Unit Trusts: unit pricing, unit registry, calculation of distributions and taxation, investment performance.
- Knowledge or an interest of financial markets and services preferably gained with an investment manager or within financial services.
- You will possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
You will be a resident of Australia.

Boronia supports a hybrid working environment offering full time staff the ability to work from home for two days per week (3 days required in the office with the Team) if they would like to, and if they have an appropriate home office environment and computer infrastructure.
