About the Department Our client, a federal government department, is charged with the responsibility for national policies and programs that help deliver a strong and fair society for all Australians. About the RoleThe Financial Accounting Section within the Financial Services Branch, Finance Group is looking for APS 6 Financial Accountants to deliver on the following responsibilities: Duties Undertake accurate and timely complex journal preparation and reconciliations Support the monthly and annual reporting to the Department of Finance Prepare high-quality financial statements work papers Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of and experience in the Commonwealth public sector financial accounting framework is highly desirable. Demonstrated technical experience in the relevant areas. Demonstrated experience using and maintaining financial systems (e.g. SAP FI/CO and TM1) is highly desirable.What's on offer The successful candidate will notionally be offered a 5-month hourly rate contract at the APS6 level.
