We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Financial Accountant to work within our growing healthcare business. The role is based at our Corporate Office in Brisbane, but flexible hybrid working is available.

Established in 2016, Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) is the largest provider of outsourced private emergency departments to hospital partners within Australia. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Emergency Departments and providing a superior level of emergency care to patients, PEHA prides itself on short wait times, expert care, personalised service, and excellent follow-up.
The role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is a rare opportunity to join the business in a high-growth phase. As the Financial Accountant, you will
• Review bank reconciliation for multiple sites
• Review and reconcile accounts payable and credit cards. Weekly payment runs
• Reconcile accounts receivable
• Monthly distributions to contractor doctors
• Process payroll requirements for the entities across the group, including superannuation payments
• Oversee the reconciliation of XERO files across the group
• Complete payroll tax, BAS and PAYG calculations
• Work with accountants on annual tax returns and audit requirements
• Conduct month-end / year-end closures and accruals with the Financial Controller
• Prepare Management Reporting & analysis as directed by the Financial Controller
About you:
To be successful in this role, you:
• Are working towards obtaining their CA/CPA qualifications or have plans to enrol in the near future
• Have 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role where you were responsible for accounts payable, reconciliation, payroll and management reporting
• Have advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills
• Have advanced understanding and experience using Xero
• Have commercial acumen and an interest in business.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline: Accounting, Finance or Economics.
