Financial Accountant - Statutory & Asset Management
Contract: Full-time Fixed-term
Location: Melbourne Docklands
Salary Level: PS05 $88,339 - $101,590 + 17% superannuation

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Compliance & Transformation, the Financial Accountant is a key member of the finance team focused on statutory compliance, Asset Management and ensuring all financial obligations are met. The role is responsible for the preparation of the end of month process, treasury and cash management, facilitating the end of year audit and preparation of the College's statutory accounts, and being a key driver in managing and maintaining the fixed assets register.

The Commercial team partners with the diverse areas of our College to ensure we deliver successful educational and commercial outcomes.
Our functions comprise business intelligence, finance, risk management, information technology, student administration and student services.
The Finance team is responsible for providing reliable and accurate financial information and advice to end-users. It supports the company's ability to meet its legislative and audit obligations, and provides financial policies and procedures which are supportive of, and consistent with, the company's goals and directions.
We provide services that meet student's need and enable us to innovate. Our systems support growth and provide a thorough understanding of results to inform decision-making and business development
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- Degree in Accounting or similar and strong accounting and analysis skills
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards this qualification
- Demonstrated and sound knowledge of the Accounting Standards
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong experience in the use of ERP applications (MYOB Advanced advantageous)
- Strong experience in the preparation, analysis and accurate reporting of company finances, including sound experience with the preparation of statutory accounts
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to exert confidence when presenting key financial information and commercial insights
- Ability to work with and influence stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and high-level problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to provide clear rationale.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders
