About the role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the monthly financial reporting, accounting and reconciliations relating to General Ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable and any other accounts department functions as and when required for all Redpath Australia entities. This position will also assist the Financial Controller in the compliance issues when required. The role involves:

• Update daily cash flow reconciliation for bank transactions and 6-month forecast for reporting purposes.
• Create customer invoices, account payment receipts, follow up and report on receivables.
• Maintain fixed assets register, account and reconcile fixed assets.
• Process journal entries and complete GL reconciliations for all Redpath Australia entities including overseas controlled entities.
• IFRS 16 lease accounting and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as per Canadian parent entity deadlines.
• Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and IAS and make GST, PAYG income tax instalments, WHT etc.
• Prepare annual Fringe Benefits Tax Return.
• Assisting with other accounts department functions like cash, reporting, audit, compliance etc., as and when required.

We are looking for

• Degree qualified and working towards CA/CPA or equivalent.
• 4-5 years’ experience with knowledge of company accounting, reporting and compliance (journals, cash, AR, fixed assets, GST & FBT returns).
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to maintain and create new models.
• Experience with major ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards, Hyperion and LeaseBox.
• High attention to detail to maintain high standard of accuracy and integrity in all reports.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
