We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join one of our government clients located in the CBD for an immediate start - 3 months assignment with possibility of extension. The main purpose of this role is efficient and effective accounting and reporting of the Corporation's fixed assets to meet management and statutory requirements.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Process fixed asset additions
Prepare asset related balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with ad hoc analysis, reconciliations and journals
Contributing to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
Experience Required
We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Business/Finance or appropriate discipline and CPA/CA qualifications or working towards CPA/CA qualifications
High level knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Strong knowledge and understanding of the accounting standards
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet changing requirements and to provide support to others in an environment of change
Knowledge and experience of financial applications, general ledger and other accounting modules in an integrated financial system environment
Demonstrated experience in asset accounting and reporting
Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and procedures
Previous experience in conducting investigations of financial accounting matters
Attention to detail and excellent communication
