Key Duties
- Undertake accurate and timely complex journal preparation and reconciliations
- Support the monthly and annual reporting to the Department of Finance
- Prepare high-quality financial statements work papers
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with our clients
- Undertake specialist or technical research and analysis to achieve high-quality results
- Actively contribute to the Finance Group's transition towards GovERP and shared services.
- May manage staff and their priorities to deliver high-quality and timely team outputs.
- Experience using financial reporting systems and spreadsheets.
- Highly developed skills in communication, analysis and problem solving.
- Ability to identify, manage and evaluate risk in all decision making and delivery of outcomes.
- Proficiency to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients.
- The value of a curious mindset, able to seek opportunities to be innovative and deliver positive change and improvements.
- Demonstrated technical experience in the relevant areas.
- Demonstrated experience using and maintaining financial systems (e.g. SAP FI/CO and TM1) is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in commerce, accounting, finance, business or a related field will be highly regarded.
- Membership of a professional accounting association (CPA/CAANZ), or progress towards, is highly desirable.
