We are seeking a talent Financial Accounting Manager to join our National Finance Team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Based in our Western Sydney office in Paramatta with excellent WFH flexibility, this position will play a vital role in our team.
What will your typical day look like?
As a member of the internal National Finance Services team, you will play a key role in overseeing the firm's Balance Sheet, statutory reporting, and external compliance responsibilities.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will supervise an Australian staff member and indirectly oversee work output from the Global Financial Service center (offshore).
In your capacity as a Financial Accounting expert, you will provide crucial advice on the accounting treatments of the business, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
This position offers the chance to enhance operational processes, unlocking efficiencies that directly influence the services we provide. You will also contribute essential subject matter expertise and insights into group-wide initiatives for the firm. Your role is pivotal to ensuring the professional delivery of services to the business, contributing significantly to Deloitte's overall success.
Day to day you will have multiple opportunities to use your excellent financial judgement and your responsibilities will include overseeing the month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliation process for the Group. You will actively contribute to the preparation of Board financial reports and year-end closing, while also serving as the primary liaison with auditors.

You will be an independent, proactive, confident and collaborative individual. You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
5 + years experience in a Financial Accounting environment
Ability to manage a team and providing effective supervision
Possesses first-class Australian technical knowledge, particularly in AASB standards and Financial Accounting
Capable of simplifying complex situations when solving issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaborating seamlessly with onshore and offshore team members and stakeholders
Proactive in seeking resolutions for issues and learning business processes
Recognise the critical importance of meeting deadlines and identifies potential issues that may impact service delivery
Preferable experience with SAP, Blackline, and Excel
CA or CPA qualified
Ex-audit or group reporting experience in a large corporate would be highly favoured
