Offices are located towards Melbourne's northern suburbs and can be accesses by private or public transport . You will be working for a very friendly and supportive non for profit organisation who are in a phase of expansion. They offer full training and also hybrid working so you can work from home 2 days per week. Free parking is available for those who are commuting by car. 2 days work from home is available weekly for all staff members.
The Role
This role will be hired initially on a 6 month contracting basis initially commencing in March 2024. Ideally we are looking for someone who can start fairly quickly (within 2 weeks of offer).
With positive change and growth happening across the organisation at the moment, there is a very strong possibility that the role will become permanent as early as the end of the current financial year. As a result, we are seeking applications from those with long term working rights in Australia.
You will be based in the inner northern suburbs but 2-3 days can be worked from home for this opportunity. Full training and support will be provided upon commencement.
This is a varied and challenging Financial Analyst opportunity which reports directly to a Senior Finance Business Partner.
Typical day to day duties for this position:
- Ensure accurate periodic and ad-hoc performance reporting in accordance with specified timelines
- Use of Power BI and similar technology to manage and make use of large data sets from multiple sources
- Conduct analysis of financial and operational reports to ensure business performance adheres to funding model submitted to Department of Social Services
- Provide data driven recommendations to partners to improve financial and service models and supporting the organisation's strategic decision making
- Provide high quality reporting and analysis to link financial results to performance outputs to inform Senior Management of key issues for attention and make recommendations
- Responsible for reviewing monthly financial management reports and performance metrics and investigation of variances to ensure appropriate action is taken to meet financial and non-financial performance targets and KPIs
- Develop and oversee the CRM dashboards with a view to enhancing its functionality and user relevance to improve quality outcomes for the organisation and the members
- Act as a subject matter expert in the creation and maintenance of CRM reporting dashboards
- Undertake new initiatives and projects to enhance data integrity and reporting capabilities to facilitate consistent quality of practice standards across the business
- Liaise with finance teams to promote reporting consistency;
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, external partners, internal and other external key stakeholders
- Contribute to the preparation of the financial budget, modelling, and financial acquittal.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is available quickly and is keen to grow and develop in a Financial Analyst role which encompasses use of Power BI.

Your Profile
You will have a background in Accounting and Finance or Financial Analysis with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:
- Exposure to Power BI, advanced Excel and dashboard reporting
- Comfortable working in Melbourne's inner northern suburbs
- Able to start in March 2024
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of financial analysis and problem solving
- Long term working rights in Australia
