Our client is a privately owned Australian transportation company. Sitting within a finance team of 30, they are seeking a Financial Analyst specialising in financial modelling for various pieces including pricing, tenders, forecasts and budgets. Responsibilities: - Manage and support the Financial Reporting and Analysis processes of the business.
- Creation and maintenance of financial models through Excel for the FP&A and wider team.
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve streamlined reports for Management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy of reporting by validating the figures reported.
- Deliver reporting on a timely basis.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop workable models to identify adverse trends.
- Coordinate with the Accounting team to ensure accuracy in the general ledger.
- Maintain and continuously improve supporting systems for reporting.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of information sources within the organization, respecting confidentiality of data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance systems and processes for efficiency in data gathering and reporting, including the development of automated reporting/forecasting tools.
- Analyze past data, conduct variance analysis, and identify trends to support decision-making.
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve models to analyze financial data.
- Perform annual forecasting and report on trends and variances.
- Provide ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Support Cash Management and Banking Functions: - Support cash management, including the development of cash flow forecasts and analysis of cash balances.
- Assist with debt compliance monitoring, covenant analysis, and debt reporting.
What are we looking for? - CA/CPA Qualification.
- Proven experience with financial modelling through Excel with large datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills with large datasets.
- Financial reporting and analysis experience.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail.
- Personality is key - someone coachable and hungry to learn.
