Financial Analyst (Qld)

LMS Energy is Australia’s largest emissions reducer and the national leader in biogas-to-energy and solar on landfill. LMS requires the services of a full-time or part-time Financial Analyst in Brisbane CBD or Yatala, Queensland 

As part of our team, you will collaborate with the Supervisor - Commercial where your role will primarily involve the development and delivery of financial models and accompanying reports that will inform senior management decisions in areas such as acquisitions, project delivery and strategic direction. developing and delivering market and financial modelling analysis. They will be a strong communicator capable of building relationships across all aspects of the business while relying on external parties to complete detail models. They will also be capable of presenting to senior management and other stakeholder holders. The role will involve assisting in the development of trading and hedging strategies whilst also executing on these strategies through the trading of electricity, renewable energy certificates and carbon credits.  This role requires a strong analytical mindset, strong financial knowledge, and the ability to generate sophisticated reports from complex data sets.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Forecast Financial Models to enable the assessment of business growth opportunities, future project delivery, potential business or project acquisitions and corporate strategic direction.
• Develop portfolio models capable of assessing market risk factors and the impact of various hedging scenarios.
• Assist in the development of portfolio management strategies.
• Execution of portfolio management strategies through market engagement and trading of electricity, renewable energy certificates and carbon credits.
• Presenting complex financial model assumptions and outcomes to management and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Business/Economics.
• 3+ years of experience in a financial/commercial analyst role, preferably specialising in markets, M&A or corporate finance
• Some Interstate Travel
• Australian Drivers Licence
