Financial Controller

Connect Source has an exciting and rewarding Financial Controller position available to join the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and managing up to 4 direct reports, this a key position that will be the link between the business’s strategic intentions and delivering the execution. The successful applicant will have proven experience within a senior yet hands-on accounting role, assisting in setting goals and objectives by implementing a framework as set by the Chief Executive Officer. 

The Financial Controller will be a team player and an effective collaborator who will assume responsibilities to lead, drive, and enhance the finance division for Connect Source by delivering hands-on accounting and financial support to a variety of stakeholders. This role will be significant in delivering best practices across a range of initiatives and ensuring financial compliance across the key functions of the business. 

Position Responsibilities: 

• Partnering with the Executive Leadership Team.
• Inventory and Cost Accounting (Standard costing, BOM, Machine & Labour costing).
• Management of the financial operations team including AR/AP purchasing, month-end processing, tax compliance (FBT, BAS, PAYG, GST); and insurance renewal.
• Reporting and analytics - preparing monthly management reports with variance analysis at appropriate levels; balance sheet reporting and reviews; cash flow forecasting; provide senior stakeholders with sound financial advice.
• Stakeholder engagement - lead finance business partnering; manage key external stakeholders (auditors, external accountants, insurers, bankers, regulatory authorities)
• Managing statutory, financial, and consolidated P&L reporting, providing accurate and timely commercial insights.
• Conducting analysis and modelling for key business partners to support decision-making.
• Preparing rolling financial forecasts and annual budgets – ensuring they align with the business’ strategic aims.
• People and Leadership - overseeing and managing team priorities and workloads; provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
• Being instrumental in providing essential commercial leadership to manage current core operations and identifying new opportunities for the organisation's future growth including review / support in tender submissions. 

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting. 
• CA or CPA qualified CPA/CA qualifications. 
• Minimum 10 years of experience in senior finance role, with 5 years of senior leadership role. 
• Strong management accounting experience in the retail/manufacturing industry focusing on product costing.
• ERP and BI implementation Experience using a BI Tool (QLIK preferred)
• Tender contract reviews and understanding T&C and terminology.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to business partner with a variety of stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria:

• Lean/6 Sigma in a manufacturing environment 
• Working within an ISO accredited environment
