An Australian-based retail group seeking a Financial Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract

Hays is excited to be representing an Australian retail group in their search for a Financial Controller for a 12-month FTC. This group has over 20 years' experience in retail and wholesale sectors across Australia.
Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the financial performance, including reporting, liquidity and ROI, as well as supporting other key functions such as commercial (M&A), operations and sales.
Duties
- Compliance of all statutory and corporate governance procedures is adhered to
- Provide financial advice and analysis on all strategic and operational aspects of financial management
- Identify areas of waste in the business and implement cost management procedures where possible
- Maximise financial strength through effective cash flow management and investment strategies
- Lead financial planning processes for the business and ensure planning cycles within finance and business operations are aligned with the strategic decisions of the organisation
- Manage and coach staff performance to enable individual and team professional growth
- Foster a collaborative environment
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to be CPA/CA qualified with experience in a Finance Manager/Financial Controller role in a retail, wholesale or FMCG environment. Extensive experience in financial management - taxation, compliance, asset management, insurance, reporting and legal issues in a complex organisation will also be necessary.
