Financial Controller

I'm partnering with the local arm of a truly mammoth multinational healthcare business. With operations spanning APAC, Europe and the US, they run a lean and profitable local operation. With the incumbent Financial Controller moving on, there's an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, up and coming head of finance to join. We're seeking someone here who can continue to build the business partnering reputation of finance and has a forward-thinking, commercial mindset and someone to whom process improvement comes naturally.

• Circa $$210,000 guarenteed rem package (base + super)

• Enjoy licence to drive improvements across finance policy, processes & systems

About the Role:

You will be responsible for a broad range of tasks including monthly reporting, statutory accounting and compliance-related work, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting. Specifically, you will:

• Manage the internal and external audit process;
• Drive year-end statutory reporting;
• Developing financial strategy, including risk minimisation;
• Meeting HO reporting requirements including management of the monthly close (US GAAP);
• Closely monitor and manage cash flow;
• Prepare company tax returns, BAS statements, FBT returns & payroll tax returns;
• Working closely with management and executive teams to share reports and analysis findings; and
• Manage and more importantly, mentor the finance team.

In this role, you will also be directly supervising a small team of accounting staff. Finance is a centralised function supporting multiple business lines, and as such, the Financial Controller with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills is required

Ideal Background:

• You will be CA or CPA qualified, hands-on and not afraid to still get stuck in at month-end. There is a preference from offshore for someone with Big 4 training but local management is not married to this criteria;
• You will have managed a team, but more specifically be able to cite multiple examples of training, upskilling and advancing the careers of those under your leadership;
• Candidates possessing a background within healthcare, medical devices or technical distribution would be ideal; and
• As crucial as your strong technical competence will be your business partnering skills and aptitude for identifying efficiencies and driving change.
