Position Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our organisation. Your responsibilities will include financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the leadership team to provide strategic financial insights that will guide decision-making.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals.
- Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to guide decision-making.
Budget Management:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to leadership.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Grant Management:
- Oversee the financial aspects of grant applications, reporting, and compliance.
- Work closely with program managers to align financial reporting with grant requirements.
Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Implement recommendations from audits to improve financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/CA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations is highly desirable but not essential
