Our client, a long-established organisation, delivers a diverse range of health and community services programs right throughout Queensland that positively impacts people. They are embarking on a significant organisation-wide transformation to future-proof their services and enhance their offerings.

With a challenging but rewarding roadmap ahead, the CFO has restructured the finance team, creating a vacancy in the Financial Controller role. Leading a team of 25 across financial accounting, payroll, and AR and AP, you implement the change agenda to enhance the finance function and add more value across the business. Use your technical expertise to question existing processes to seek ways to streamline them. You must demonstrate to your team how to proactively collaborative with Operational Executives and Leaders, using technology, to deliver to them meaningful relevant finance reports on a timely basis.

Reporting to the CFO, your key challenges include: -

Driving a change in mindset to be innovative and seek new, more sophisticated ways to deliver the required financial information;
Challenging the status quo to bring about change that transform the perception of the finance team and the value it adds to the business;
Embracing technology to enhance and streamline the timeliness of delivery of information
Implementing a proactive culture that will embrace new ideas and perspectives and stop procrastinating on potential change.

A technically strong CA/ CPA finance professional with sound leadership capability is required. Your career demonstrates a willingness to embrace change and challenge the status quo to improve the productivity and efficiency of the finance function. Your organised, structured approach and strong management ability helps your team to become positive and proactive in seeking ways to add value. You view finance as an integral part of operations that uses technology to help the operations.
