Job Description
The Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join the team. This position reports to the General Manager, collaborates closely with the Hotel leadership team, and is responsible for providing full financial and accounting support for Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill.
The Financial Controller is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Finance Department to maximise the Hotels’ profitability and overall financial performance.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Operating as business partner with Hotel Leadership team to achieve financial performance of the Hotel
- Directly accountable for all financial information sent to the General Manager, Accor and Owners in regard to presentation, accuracy and detail
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes for the Hotel
- Ensure that all Management Agreement and Owners Corporation matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner – with accuracy and attention to detail
- Monitor financial performance against forecasts and budgets, analyse variances, and evaluate key performance indicators
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Sound understanding of state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave and National Employment Standards
- Thorough knowledge and experience of financial accounting principles and procedures including statutory responsibilities
- Strong organisational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- Previous Accor knowledge/experience would be advantageous
