Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is a statutory body whose role is to oversee all harness racing activity in Victoria. Our mission is to deliver the most sought-after and accessible harness racing that produces financial sustainability, ensures clubs are the heart of their communities and provides equal opportunities for all participants to compete. The Opportunity
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (FP&A Analyst) is responsible for key functions such as:
- Support and assist with the coordination of planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for Harness
Racing Victoria. - Work with business unit owners to identify cost saving initiatives.
- Support and assist with the modelling and analysis for the centralisation of race day related roles.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations and reports to support decision making and provide
insights to Board and management reports as required. - Support the preparation of models and perform quality control and assurance on economic models
to ensure accuracy and alignment of models. - Support variance analysis and reforecasting as required for monthly Board reporting.
- Establish, manage, and evaluate processes/tools for tracking performance against financial and nonfinancial targets.
- Develop and provide regular reporting and presentations to monitor performance against objectives
and the Group's strategic imperatives. - Drive improvements in business planning and analysis, incorporating best practices into HRVs
reporting practices. - Drive a collaborative approach to managing department performance against budget.
- Foster and develop collaborative and trusted relationships across the organisation and with key
stakeholders to enable delivery of the strategic plan.
This position also requires the following capabilites:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related area with CPA or Charted
Accountant status. - Strong numeracy skills with proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting & forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving & critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-focused and organised with the proven capacity to take on and deliver on multiple and varied
projects and competing deadlines. - Evidence of good consultation, communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated
capacity to work collaboratively with others negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes. - Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams, as well as initiative and effective
personal judgement when working alone. - Evidence of solutions focus and innovative thinking, ability to assess options and identify and
implement solutions. - Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the embedding of Harness Racing in Victoria
values, mission and vision.
