We are looking for qualified Mechanical Fitter for our Food Manufacturing site based at Arndell Park.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing installation, monitoring, machine set up, site preventative maintenance, machine setup and adjustment, breakdown repairs, and continuous improvement of site production assets and infrastructure.
The shift commences at 6 am and there is the opportunity for overtime.
Your main functions will include but not limited to:
- Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, gearboxes, bearings, knife blades, Thermocouples)
- Work against the planned maintenance schedule to ensure machinery, equipment and facility are maintained to an acceptable standard.
- Build and maintain a good working knowledge of plant and equipment maintenance techniques, company products and services, and working practices, to perform the role efficiently and effectively.
- Proactively identify, solve / report concerns around the site, feedback areas for improvement.
- Manage Preventative & Reactive maintenance requests.
- Maintain housekeeping and sanitation of work area and equipment.
- Working on continuous improvements
- Minimize response times to unplanned & emergency tasks.
- Ensure feedback is provided on status of work in progress and complete works.
- To be an active member of your Team engaging in daily and ad hoc meetings.
- To effectively use site systems inclusive of the MEX System asset management plan.
- To support and promote a RIGHT FIRST TIME APPROACH.
- To provide maintenance support for the site including if required for NPD, cost savings, quality, safety as required.
To be a success in this role you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. FMCG industry an advantage.
- Engineering / maintenance related qualification (Essential)
- Electrical related qualification (Desirable)
- Ability to weld (tig and stick), machine and repair parts on a lathe as required.
- Ability to be innovative.
- Experience and knowledge in repair and preventative maintenance.
- Ability Communicate effectively with others at all levels of the business.
- Ability to cope in fast paced environment and work unsupervised or part of team.
- Excellent planning and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks, and attention to detail.
