We are growing our team at The Valley Estate and an exciting opportunity has become available for an Event Operations Manager. The Valley Estate is a bespoke wedding and events venue in the beautiful Currumbin Valley.
The successful candidate will be passionate about weddings & events and be motivated to exceed guest expectations whilst creating an outstanding food & beverage experience. Responsible for overseeing the effective running of all weddings & events you will be a consummate professional with an engaging personality and impeccable communication skills. Reporting to the General Manager and working alongside our Coordination team your role will be service driven, with an emphasis on ensuring the effective management of all weddings & events. Immaculately presented, you will have a keen eye for the finer details as well as the ability to multi-task.
THE ROLE
- Oversee the day to day running of weddings as well as corporate and social events
- Lead and motivate staff through service
- Act as the point of contact for The Valley Estate during events, coordinating both internal and external stakeholders at a high level
- Liaise with senior management to ensure the venue is reaching its operational goals
The ideal candidate must have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a hospitality manager
- Wedding and events experience is essential
- A knowledge of fine dining, a-la-carte service is a prerequisite
- Strong knowledge of systems and the ability to develop and implement training programs
- A positive attitude, professional manner as well as immaculate presentation
- Exceptional service levels
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with both guests and staff members
- Effective IT skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively in a fast pace environment
- Extensive knowledge of Food and wine
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends & public holidays as required
