What you’ll be doing in this role
We are currently seeking a part time, Food Safety and Systems Specialist to work in our Food Services Department here at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
The role will initially be for 6 months, maximum term with the potential to go to permanent.
The main responsibly of this position is to effectively manage & maintain all food services aspects of our menu management database, ensuring all information is efficiently & accurately entered, along with provide on-going support to all food services staff who use these associated systems.
As a specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- The implementation of initiatives and improvement programs in relation to responsible systems and processes
- Systems testing participation when needed
- Key player with Food Safety management, guidelines, initiation and compliancy
- Be a key lead, and super user, when it comes to patient menu review and recipe development with supported, applicable application systems
- Support financial goals, maintain and manage along with produce various reports with applicable system programs
- Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork along to a culture of continuous quality improvement
Who we are looking for
- Knowledge, skills and previous experience in back of house systems within the food industry, ideally CBORD
- Previous or current experience in reviewing and undertaking service delivery improvements
- Have excellent attention to detail, with demonstrated high quality level of technical skills and able to provide results in previous success
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience considerately & professionally communicating with both internal and external patient and customer groups
- Exceptional attention to detail with knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP guidelines and healthcare requirements
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload to meet sometimes tight time schedules when required
- 2+ year experience in Food Service Healthcare, preferably with a large production kitchen environment
- Previous experience in a managing menu management and temperature monitoring systems
