Alliance Connect is a non ferrous foundry, based in Carrum Downs, South East of Melbourne. We produce sand, gravity and low pressure castings in aluminum, bronzes and cast irons. We supply these parts to a range of different industries (Automotive, Industrial, Medical, Transport, Defence, Local Government and more).
This a “Hands On” production focused role that requires working with and helping the shop floor personnel to produce quality parts and improve processes.
It also involves working with the business owners on a more strategic level to position the business for the future.
Specifically it requires:
Ensure process parameters and quality objectives are met and traceable records kept.
Establish and follow procedures for melting, treating and handling of molten metals (aluminium, bronzes / cast irons) are followed.
Investigate process failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.
Communciate with customers to address any quality concerns and continuously improve processes
Assist in production areas when required to resolves issues or to test new tools/products.
Operating production equipment during the normal production and while sampling new products.
Assisting with in new product development and overseeing casting of new products.
Use Spectrometer and X-ray machine and other tools to ensure metal and parts meet required standards.
There are some physical elements to this role in the tasks required to be undertaken and as such is not just an analytical office based role.
Experience Required:-
- Experience working with metal and various metal testing methods
- Experience working in a foundry highly desirable
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications
- Experience in production management and/or quality control
