Applications are now being sought for a suitable Front Office Manager to join our team working at our 4-star boutique hotel and spa at Mount Buller.
We are seeking a candidate who is an industry professional, looking to work with a team of like-minded people who believe in outstanding customer service. The candidate we are seeking will be able to lead a team but also work with them side by side to ensure that our clients feel like they are part of the family.
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ of hospitality experience in a similar role. As a front-line representative of the hotel, this role requires a polite and pleasant manner, immaculate presentation and an eye for detail is essential along with a passion for providing excellent customer service and exceeding guest's expectations. You must be prepared to work a six-day week throughout the winter season and always maintain a sunny disposition.
What will I be doing?
As the Front Office Manager your primary role will be to welcome and efficient check-in and check-out hotel guests. You will report directly to the General Manager. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Ensure the efficient running of all aspects of the Front Office environment
- Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and external contractors in relation to the daily requirements
- Ensure a smooth and efficient experience is delivered to all guests at check-in, during their stay, and at check-out
- Accurately and efficiently process hotel reservations, whilst complying with operational policies and procedures
- Respond to all incoming phone calls, emails, and guest queries in a timely, professional, and polite manner
- Assist in maximising hotel occupancy and revenue through effective utilization of accommodation rates, promotional packages and upselling
- Adhere to strict security and privacy policies and procedures, in relation to clients financial and personal information
- Processing and reconciling EFTPOS, cash and online payments and end of shift handover according to procedure
- Maintain and process guest accounts, ensuring all charges are accurately posted in a timely manner
- Provide exceptional levels of guest service
- Liaise and assist housekeeping with checking of rooms prior to guest’s arrival
- Assist and effectively communicate with other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and health and safety legislation

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Industry-relevant tertiary qualification
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Experience using a Property Management System 'RMS'
- Sound knowledge of all MS Office programs
- Australian resident or must have a current working visa for Australia
