We are seeking a FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEER OR PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER (WITH TUV) to play a crucial role in ensuring that systems, products or processes operate safely and reliably on the Waitsia Gas Project.
THE PROJECT
The Waitsia Gas Project is ranked one of the largest gas fields ever discovered onshore in Australia and Stage 2 involves further development of the gas field with new wells and a new production facility. Clough is currently undertaking the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope of the development, near Dongara, Western Australia.
THE JOB FOCUS
Conduct thorough safety assessments and hazard analyses for complex systems, machinery, or software
Define safety requirements and develop safety concepts to ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into the design, development, and testing phases of projects
Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate risk reduction measures
Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential safety issues and recommend corrective actions
Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to functional safety
Provide guidance and support to project teams on safety-related matters
Participate in safety-related meetings, reviews, and discussions.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
A minimum 6yr+ experience as a TUV Certified Engineer
Experience in the O&G industry - essential
Certification in functional safety (e.g., CFSE, TÜV) - essential
Well-rounded experience who can also work to achieve results for Commissioning Test Procedure (CTP) tests
A relevant Bachelor Degree in Engineering (or a related field)
In-depth knowledge of relevant safety Standards and Regulations in particular IEC-61511
Strong understanding of safety analysis techniques such as FMEA, FTA, and HAZOP
Experience with safety-related tools and methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong PLC Coding experience.
