Sylvan Funerals is a well-respected family owned funeral company, operated by the Salomon family for the past 20 years. Located centrally in Ipswich, we continue to guide and support families in creating fitting farewells for their loved ones across all faiths and cultures. We also operate in the Scenic Rim region from our office in Boonah.
We are currently looking for a caring and professional Funeral Arranger and Administrator to join our small team.
THE POSITION
This position requires a dedicated individual who can demonstrate they are self-directed, organised, and able to co-ordinate a variety of tasks to deliver a high level of service to our families.
The successful applicant should demonstrate the following skills:
- A compassionate, professional and caring individual who can multi-task
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
- Good verbal, written and personal presentation
- Must be a methodical and tidy person
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of customer service
- Experience in Office Administration
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, as we utilise various software packages throughout the planning process.
- A good understanding of IT and AV equipment
- A good level of fitness
- A current driver’s licence
This role will include, but not limited to:
- Be the first point of contact for bereaved families in discussing and planning funeral details.
- Perform associated administrative tasks with planning a funeral or responding to initial enquiries.
- Setting up for funeral services both within our facilities, as well as at external venues and cemeteries
- Ensuring funeral home facilities are clean and well presented
- Providing support to colleagues and assisting them before, during and after a service
- Assist with the preparation of facilities and equipment for funerals
