About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Product Technologist. This role is to assist Senior Product Technologist in all aspect of Quality Assurance approvals and creating complete and accurate full garment-specifications that meet specific design requirements according to domestic & international ‘Standards’ and specifications as required for the Bisley Brands.

This role works within the Design team and with factories to achieve the best fits, best quality in fabric, technology, and QA standards.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Anticipate and resolve any potential problems relating to fit, fabric, workmanship, quality & design relating to Australian and International standards.
• Assist the Design Team & Production Team with workmanship issues.
• Create and maintain Garment Tech Books for the brand, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Approvals of Development samples and PP samples.
• Ensure products meet appropriate quality requirements and customer’s expectations.
• Reduce the number of quality issues.

• Responsible for the QA and garment specification pages of each ‘tech book’ for quotation, sampling, and production for the Bisley brand, specifically, the measurement reference pages and grade specifications.
• To ensure all products meet with the specification and Bisley quality.
• Recommend, approve, or reject all aspects of Quality Control including development samples, PP samples and final production shipping samples.
• Ensure all grading and fits are consistent across all Bisley products.
• Assist the Design team in all aspects of product development when required and any other duties as required within the group.
• Always reduce number of quality issues 
• Ensure Fabric and trims performance meet customers’ expectations.
• Detailing of all specifications within design packs, inclusive of making comments.
• Grading specifications according to the practice already employed within the business.
• Liaison with the factories & offshore QC team regarding specifications, proto samples, pre- production samples and shipment samples with comments surrounding the fit / garment construction.
• Ensuring all garment construction is of the highest quality- this is not negotiable.
• Ensure 24-hour response to any factory / production queries. This includes but is not limited to measure, fit and comments written up into ‘tech books’ before being sent off to factories.
• Be aware of production schedules in consultation with the production team.

IDEAL EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES:

• Good relationship management & interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
• Impeccable organization skills
• Excellent task and time management – ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Tertiary qualified in a relevant design / garment technical discipline- Fashion Technology, Patternmaking
• Comprehensive knowledge of Fits, fabrications, grading rules and manufacturing process 
• Garment construction and manufacturing knowledge is essential.
• Extensive product experience in apparel industry in a garment tech/ Patternmaker capacity - exceeding 3-5 years’ experience.
• Experience in the Workwear, Safety-wear, Uniforms and Corporate Apparel industry would be highly regarded.
• Computer literacy
  • All Microsoft Office Programs
  • Adobe programs: Illustrator and Excel are essential to this role.
• Experience and knowledge in pattern making and grading in outerwear for both menswear and womenswear.
