King Tom Club is a renowned community and sporting destination located in Southwest Sydney. The Club features our famous à la carte restaurant ‘Luce Mala’, 2 function rooms, large lounge area, indoor/outdoor gaming areas, TAB and KENO. At our core we have several sporting, cultural and aged members associations that utilise our facilities. We are based in a dynamic area of Sydney, with plans to improve our facilities for all members and guests including a new childcare to be constructed in the upcoming year.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GENERAL MANAGER to take on a hands-on leadership role. As General Manger, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Club and will report directly to the Board of Directors. Strong business acumen and the ability to develop strategic plans for the continued growth and development of the Club will be required. 

This role would be ideal for someone with proven leadership experience and a strong operational background to take the next step in their management career.

The successful applicant will be energetic, enthusiastic and be involved and committed to maintaining and improving a successful licensed club. You will need to have strong organisational ability and a “hands-on” approach and be involved in all aspects of the Club’s activities including venue compliance, administration, promotion, functions, stock control and the supervision and training of staff. 

The General Manager’s responsibilities will include:

• Managing day to day operations of all areas of the club.
• Overseeing the performance of all club employees particularly in the area of customer service.
• Maintaining and monitoring the club’s financial performance, preparing reports for the Board of Directors summarising the business's financial position in key areas of income, expenses, capital usage and cash flows, and assist with the preparation and implementation of plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Develop and grow the business of the club and ensure maximum return on investment for the Club.
• Proactive marketing and promotion of the club and member activities.
• Liaising with and supporting the Board of Directors and exercising specific delegated authorities.
• Developing an ongoing maintenance program to ensure high standards and compliance to statutory requirements.
• Managing liquor licensing, gaming, and statutory compliance obligations for the club.
• Represent the club in its relationships with major customers, bankers, government bodies, industry associations and similar groups.
• Maintain effective communications systems throughout the Club’s operations, including engaging effectively with Club members, the community, and other key stakeholders
• Being the 'face of the club' in the community.

To be considered for the position you will:

• Honest and professional.

• A keen eye for detail and great organisational skills.
• Have strong leadership skills and proven ability in training and motivating a team.
• Have prior management experience in a similar role.
• Have strong financial and administrative management skills.
• Have a good understanding of all operational areas of a Club, including gaming analysis, stock control, WHS, payroll and security.
• Manage and build gaming room revenue, customer service and experiences, plan and manage link gaming strategies.
• Manage all operational and financial aspects of the club.
• Manage and maintain the club's compliance with OLGR, local Council and NSW Police.
• Work with supervisors and staff to ensure club maintenance, ordering (budgets), stocktakes and POS systems are maintained and accurate on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensure back of house reporting and cash handling is completed to an exceptional standard and daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Function management, driving function business.
• Be available for flexible hours across a range of days, evenings, and weekends.
• Hold current NSW RSA and RCG Cards/certificates and be eligible to hold a Liquor Licence.
• Have strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with a focus on customer service.
• Have an understanding and good working knowledge of legislation relevant to the club’s operations, compliance, and corporate governance issues.
• Experience in developing and implementing plans and budgets.
• Demonstrable financial management, analysis, and reporting competencies.
• The ability to work collaboratively and support the Board of Directors.
