The Opportunity
As General Manager of this diversified Mechanical Equipment & Industrial Services company, you will have the opportunity to lead the ongoing development of a highly successful, profitable business.  With current turnover in the tens of millions, this is an established business that is poised for significant future growth supported by the reinvestment of profits via targeted investments.  While this a critical senior leadership role, future plans include significant opportunities for the General Manager to continue to progress their own career in line with your ambitions and strengths.
You will be able to deliver real results across all areas of the business including:

• People leadership and management – use your people and communication skills to ensure a positive, high-performance culture across all areas of the business
• Operational excellence – oversee operations and ensure they are aligned with corporate policy, client solutions are fit for purpose and safety is at the forefront of all activities
• Strategic Opportunities – balance your operational focus with the identification of strategic development opportunities. This could range from identifying opportunities for investing in new plant and equipment, identifying new markets, enhancing workflows, optimising supply chains, developing the structure of your team etc.  You’ll have a platform to share your ideas with a supportive CEO and board.
• Achieving financial targets – you’ll oversee all aspects of sales and marketing through to the management of inventory, assets and debtors to ensure revenue and profit targets are delivered

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:

• proven executive leadership experience gained within a business with significant activities which include a mix of manufacturing, equipment sales, engineering and workshop activities
• a well-balanced approach to business management and your relationships with the team around you. You’ll know when to challenge the ways that things are being done and also that change must be considered and effectively communicated
• a disciplined and structured approach supported by a logical mindset
• communication skills which allow you to be as comfortable influencing at board level as you are with the team in the workshop
