The role, at a glance:
The General Manager - Australia & New Zealand contributes to Biamp's overall success by overseeing Biamp's Australian and New Zealand day-to-day operations with a focus on sales growth. The effective candidate will assist in designing the strategy for Australia and set goals for its growth, will help control budgets and optimize expenses, and ensure all employees in the region are motivated and productive. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, all the while ensuring the success of our Australian growth strategy.
How you'll contribute:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple locations throughout Australia.
- Assist in designing strategy, setting goals, and seeking out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships in the region.
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally.
- Effective customer-focus and constant development of the sales channel. Having the attitude of "what brought us here last year will not keep us here".
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses.
- Engage in continuous analysis of department processes to maximize strengths and implement optimization strategies.
- Prepare regular reports for upper management.
- Provide solutions to Regional issues.
- Ensure the company is handling Regional client needs at a satisfactory level.
- Monitor industry and competitive market trends.
- Represent the company at on-site customer meetings, conferences, tradeshows and community events as necessary to develop key relationships.
- Recruit and retain the best available talent.
- Other duties as assigned.
A successful candidate should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience required.
- Proven experience as a General Manager, or similar executive role, with a proven track record of success.
- Exceptional leadership, relationship building and sales skills.
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.).
- Understand and know the ANZ Audio Visual marketplace.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills desired.
- Ability to travel at times 50%+.
- Brisbane location is preferred. If not, must live in proximity to a major international airport.
