Due to staff promotions and new roles we require a dynamic smart organized hotel General Manager GM for Ramada Hervey Bay, a regional coastal Queensland tourism destination - a major brand name hotel and resort – needs to be a mature energetic experienced self driven person with a ‘self start can-do’ attitude – prepared to be somewhat ‘hard headed’ to drive through to get results. Must be experienced and focused on sales and marketing of accommodation and restaurant as well as operations and be able to clearly delegate to get results. Must be vital, energetic and motivated. Must be able to clearly establish expectations with staff and all stakeholders.
The destination resort and leading corporate hotel in Hervey Bay has a number of new and exciting proposed programs to drive occupancy and rate so our new executive GM needs to have vision as well as ability to implement. These innovative ideas and programs will be outlined in the interview process.
Key elements include organized and timely on all projects and tasks and schedules and has a passion to ensure business and communications run smoothly. The position requires the ability to plan, implement, and carry through the prescribed steps of overseeing marketing, operations accounting and administration. Methodical and meticulous attention to detail required.

POSITION SUMMARY
General manager and prime on site motivator of apartment hotel currently under 100 rooms (studios and suites) (but to expanded to 170 rooms with the construction of Ramada SkyHotel Stage 2 - www,skyhotel.com.au) plus Ramaa Encore Whalecove of another 30 holiday apartments. Intend specialised programs incorporating Smokey Joes Cafe Bar and Grill as well as traditional business and tourism market. Need to drive all aspects of occupancy, rate and customer satisfaction.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDES:
- All hotel and operations expected of a senior GM with a clear focus on results
- Ability to clearly forward plan financial forecast and budgets - clear cash flow planning
- Oversee the administrator who has full accounts role, BAS, general ledger management, etc through to liaison with external auditors and accountants
- Provide client services to new and existing clients via email, phone and face to face methods
- Development and deployment of systems and processes for day to day operations
- Co-ordinate and manage the day to day administration of the business
- Oversee the development of the client and prospect database for accurate and efficient campaigns
- Assist with marketing activities
- Support management team in all areas
- Drive marketing outcomes
- Work with the principals on Stage 2 Ramada SkyHotel
